Logan had his last game of the season yesterday. The game started off kind of rocky, because the other team scored first. Logan was defending and couldn't quite catch the guy to protect the goal, so he came off the field so bummed. He was so concerned and said "Mom, I can't beat these guys. I'm not good!" I of course, told him that wasn't true and they weren't any better than any other team he's played before. I gave him a pep talk and told him to think positive and to tell himself "I'm the best!" So he did and when he went back in, he was rejuvenated. I shouted out "let's make a goal, Log!" And right after that, the ball went out of bounds and it was our ball. His teammate kicked it into him and he managed to kick the ball from almost mid-field (a few feet closer to the goal)...left footed...and it sailed into the goal. Seriously, talk about bending it like Beckham! WOW! I've never seen such a sweet goal. And to come from my own kid...and a kid who's only 5! He's amazing :) He then scored another goal later in the game. They ended up winning 3-2. They ended up being undefeated for the season. Way to go Blue Flames...I know their name is rather strange. Logan wanted them to be the Blue Gators, which I thought had a nice little ring to it...but we were out-voted. Blue Flames....ha ha ha!!
Jake did a great job coaching along with Josh, a guy we came to really like through Logan's team last year. They held practice every week and taught the kids some great skills, but weren't overly intense, like some coaches can be.
