My hard-working hubby earned us an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii! It was a really fun trip. I was so stressed about leaving the kids, but apparently they did just great. Grayson started WALKING right before we left and now that we're back, cruises around like it's nothing!
We went with 4 other couples from Jake's work (his 2 bosses, Travis and Kelly, the office/billing guy, Trent, and another salesman, Mike and their wives). It was really fun getting to know everyone and we laughed a lot! I never knew his bosses could be so dang funny.
They rented a beach house and this is the view from the yard.
We lucked out and they had a professional surfing competition (Van's Triple Crown) the first day we got there. It was amazing to watch!
We also got to see sea turtles! There was one chilling on the beach and then one that was swimming out in the ocean and then made its way to the beach. It was really cool to watch it come up to the sand and probably the highlight of my trip!
We spent most of the time just hanging out on the beach. There was a lot of clouds, so my goal of getting a tan wasn't achieved, but it was still really nice and warm. And thankfully, no rain.
We made a weak attempt to snorkel. This is supposed to be the best snorkeling beach, but for us it was pretty tough. The waves got really high and there were tons of rocks...so you do the math. Needless to say it was a quick one!
We hiked (not really a hike, but an easy walk) up to the Waimea Falls and it was so pretty. I saw a banana tree...a first for me! It was fun swimming in that little lake and trying to push Jake's boss in.
On our last day, we went to the Laie temple and did a session. We also went to BYU Hawaii just to check it out a bit.
All-in-all a very nice and relaxing vacation. I'm so thankful to my amazing hubby who worked so hard to get us this time together. I love you Jake!

Dad and I have a temple picture in the exact same spot. It must be the classic photo op, eh? Glad you had fun while we were shivering in the colddddd!
