This little "Nugget of Joy", as I so lovingly refer to him as has just turned 18 months.
Here is a little run-down of Grayson at 18 months...
Growth Stats:
Weight: 25 lbs. (39th almost 40th percentile)
Height: 31.5 in. (22nd percentile, bless his heart)
Head Circ: 19 3/4 in. (96th percentile)
Loves:
DOGS! (still) (still calls them goggy's)
Trucks/Cars (calls them chucks)
Books (calls them gooks)
Brushing hist teeth. Every time anyone is brushing their teeth, he hops on the stool and begs for his toothbrush. He can't say "brush teeth" but if I say "where are your teeth?" he'll point to them.
Unrolling toilet paper and/or paper towels, as seen here...
His daddy! He gets SO excited when Jake comes home. One day we were pulling into the garage and he saw Jake's car parked in it and says "Oh wow! Daddy!" in the cutest voice I've ever heard!
Dr. Pepper...oops!
Balls! Brad and Dest gave us their old "midget" bball hoop and Grayson goes nuts over making baskets!
Anything soft like a pillow...he likes to snuggle them.
Dislikes:
Getting boogers snatched (don't we all)
Getting changed or getting dressed
Those are his main likes and dislikes. He has really become such a different baby and I'm loving this toddler age! He has started feeling comfortable around other people and will go to them. He's had a bunch of different people watch him and a couple of play dates and has done great. Every time I go to pick him up, they just tell me how good he was! He seems to be really tender with other kids, especially babies.
Maybe because he's walking, but I think he's found a new love for independence! He's not nearly as clingy and will kind of just wander around checking things out (and, of course, making messes!) He sleeps well through the night...goes down around 8:30 and wakes up around 8:30/9:00 am and still takes a nice long nap around noon. He eats just about anything, but I can tell he has his dad's dislike for "textury" foods like pumpkin pie and cheese cake (so sad). He still likes to dance and has acquired some new "moves" including turning in a circle. It's pretty hilarious.
He's just an all around "makes-you-happy" kind of kid and I am sooooo lucky to be his mom! I had to laugh the other day when I realized that probably 98% of the pictures on my phone are of him! I just love everything he does and am a little obsessed with this guy.
And a couple of little phrases he's been saying lately:
"Watch dis"
"Wus dis? or "Wus dat"?
"Look at dat!"
...apparenly he's a very observant child...
"Tank Daddy" (thanks daddy)
"I wan some" or just "wan some"
| Feeling like a big boy on this tiny chair. |
| First time using a fork. He loves mashed potatoes, just like me! |

He's a cutie. I guess "maybe" this summer, he just might make it a 4-some at our house this year. It will be nice to get to know him like the others. I have missed that little baby time. I am glad he is not so shy anymore!
Wow! He sure talks a lot. Such a sweet boy!
